WHO WE ARE

About Howard’s Heroes

Cara k. Wilson

Howard’s Heroes was founded from a personal understanding of the challenges families face when navigating autism and developmental needs. Through firsthand experience and deep involvement in the community, our founder saw the need for an organization that prioritizes support, education, and inclusive experiences for families.

Our founder recognized that many families struggle to navigate services and find programs that truly meet their needs. By bringing families, professionals, and community partners together, Howard’s Heroes was established to help close those gaps and create opportunities for connection, education, and support.

The vision behind Howard’s Heroes continues to guide the organization’s work today. Every program, event, and initiative reflects a focus on compassion, inclusion, and respect for the families we serve.

The goal of Howard’s Heroes has always been to create a space where families feel heard, supported, and empowered. By focusing on connection and practical resources, the organization works to help families feel less alone and more confident in their journey.

This personal commitment remains at the heart of Howard’s Heroes and continues to shape the way we serve our community.

Our work is guided by the belief that families thrive when they are supported, informed, and connected to a community that understands their experiences. We prioritize creating opportunities where parents, caregivers, and children can come together, share experiences, and build relationships in environments that are inclusive and supportive.

Our Story

Howard’s Heroes was created in response to a real and growing need within our community. Families impacted by autism and developmental disabilities often face challenges navigating services, finding support, and accessing inclusive spaces where they feel welcomed and understood.

What began as a commitment to help families find resources and connection has grown into a nonprofit organization focused on education, community engagement, and advocacy. Our work is shaped by lived experience, compassion, and a belief that families are stronger when they are supported together.
