Howard’s Heroes offers programs and services designed to support families impacted by autism and developmental disabilities through education, connection, and inclusive community experiences.
Howard’s Heroes offers programs and services designed to support families impacted by autism and developmental disabilities through education, connection, and inclusive community experiences. Our work is grounded in listening to families, understanding their needs, and providing support that is practical, respectful, and family-centered.
Each program is created to help families feel informed, supported, and connected to resources and to one another.
Parents and caregivers play a central role in supporting children with autism and developmental disabilities. Howard’s Heroes offers parent education and support opportunities designed to provide information, encouragement, and shared understanding.
Through workshops, support sessions, and educational events, families can learn practical strategies, gain insight from professionals, and connect with other parents who understand their experiences. These programs are designed to be welcoming, informative, and supportive, regardless of where families are in their journey.
Navigating services and support systems can be overwhelming for families. Howard’s Heroes provides guidance to help families identify and access trusted local resources, service providers, and community organizations.
We work with families to understand their specific needs and help connect them with appropriate supports, whether they are just beginning their journey or looking for additional resources. Our goal is to reduce confusion and make it easier for families to find help they can rely on.
This service may include referrals to educational supports, therapy providers, community programs, and other family-focused resources.
Howard’s Heroes hosts family-centered events that provide inclusive, welcoming spaces where families can connect and enjoy meaningful experiences together. These events are designed to be accessible and supportive, recognizing the diverse needs of children and caregivers.
Family enrichment events offer opportunities for relaxation, social connection, and shared enjoyment in environments that promote acceptance and understanding. For many families, these events also provide valuable moments of rest and community connection.
Education and awareness are essential to building inclusive communities. Howard’s Heroes conducts workshops and outreach initiatives that focus on increasing understanding of autism and developmental disabilities.
These efforts may include community presentations, educational workshops, and collaborative events with schools, organizations, and community partners. By sharing knowledge and promoting awareness, we aim to foster acceptance and inclusion beyond our immediate programs.
Volunteers play an important role in supporting the work of Howard’s Heroes. We offer meaningful opportunities for individuals and groups to assist with programs, events, outreach, and community initiatives.
Volunteering with Howard’s Heroes allows community members to support families directly while contributing to inclusive and welcoming experiences. Volunteer opportunities vary depending on events and program needs.
Howard’s Heroes values collaboration with organizations, businesses, schools, and community groups that share a commitment to supporting families. Partnerships and sponsorships help expand our programs and extend our reach within the community.
Partners and sponsors may support events, educational initiatives, or family programs through financial support, in-kind contributions, or collaborative efforts. These relationships allow us to continue offering meaningful programs and resources to families.
